Cockburn Special Reserve was introduced in 1969 and created a whole new Port Wine category, the foundation for the success of Port and Douro in the decades that followed. Cockburn's Special Reserve is a premium wine selected for its richness and intensity, from the best vineyards in the Upper Douro and matured in oak barrels for five years. This longer wood ageing process gives its fruity flavours and full palate a distinctive dry finish, making it the benchmark for all Reserve Ports.
